New research suggests that the major cause of cancer is random chance, bad luck. Personally, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if this view was discredited in the not-so-distant future, though maybe I feel this way because I don't want it to be true.

The real issue for the food nannies is emphatically not about what people eat, but about who gets to decide what we eat. To the nannies, you're not capable of deciding on your own, so, they'll do it for you.
