Killing American Business

Last week IBD ran an article discussing recent data showing that more business die each year in America than are born.  This, of course, is the sign of an unhealthy economy, and is the predictable result of the massive growth in government in this country over the last 50 years or so.  Here's an excerpt:
Business deaths in the U.S. now outnumber business births, Gallup Chairman and CEO Jim Clifton wrote this week in an article asking if American entrepreneurship is dead or alive.  "The U.S. now ranks not first, not second, not third, but 12th among developed nations in terms of business startup activity," Clifton wrote.
"Countries such as Hungary, Denmark, Finland, New Zealand, Sweden, Israel and Italy all have higher startup rates than America does."Citing Census Bureau data, Clifton revealed that "four hundred thousand new businesses are being born annually nationwide, while 470,000 per year are dying."
