The "Thrilla in Manila"

One of the greatest boxing matches in the history of the sport was fought 39 years ago today when Mohammad Ali defeated Joe Frazier in the "Thrilla in Manila" in 1975.  Ali is my favorite boxer of all time; I personally think no boxer ever lived could have beaten Ali in his prime.  The greatest jab coupled with the quickest reflexes and the ability to take a pounding (ask George Forman about the "Rope a Dope" strategy for confirmation of this) and have strength at the end of a fight made him almost invincible.  Plus he was one of the first, truly great self-promoters in the modern era of sports.
