Saturday Morning Car Show: The "Rockford Files" Firebird

I've been on a James Garner/Rockford Files kick for the last couple of months, so I thought I'd feature the iconic Pontiac Firebird from that series this weekend.  Here's a photo of Garner driving his Firebird:


The Firebird was Pontiac's sister car to the Chevrolet Camaro, both of which debuted in 1967 as a response to Ford's success with its Mustang entry a couple of years earlier. Here is another shot of Garner in the Firebird, albeit a different year:

Among the interesting things I learned is that he did a fair percentage of the stunt driving in the show and, like Steve McQueen, was very interested in racing (Stud though Garner may have been, he was no Steve McQueen.
