Law Enforcement Against Enforcing Drug Laws

And I say good on them!  Over at Carpe Diem, Mark Perry has a great post on a group of law enforcement officials (LEAP) that have released a list showing how destructive the War on Drugs has been since Nixon made the mistake of thinking that a) there was a war, and b) that it was winnable. Here are a couple of points from LEAP's list:
5. The Breakdown between Law Police and the Community, because of the Increasing militarization of US law enforcement and aggressive enforcement of drug laws.
6. Mexican Drug Cartel Violence – 60,000 Mexicans have died since 2006 in drug cartel-related murders, deaths and violence.
