A Collection of OLS QoW's on Liberty

Here are a collection of quotes previously featured as OLS Quotes of the Week.  Each concerns, in one form or another,  the central theme of On Liberty Street.  I hope you enjoy them (again!).
"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."  --- Ben Franklin, 1759.

“A day, an hour, of virtuous liberty, is worth a whole eternity in bondage.” Cato tht Younger, expressing defiance against Julius Caesar’s future dictatorship, in Joseph Addison’s Cato: A Tragedy, Act II, Scene 1, 1713.
“It is seldom, that freedom of any kind is lost all at once.” -- David Hume

"The essence of freedom is the proper limitation of government". --- The Founding Fathers

“As for me, I say give me liberty, or give me death!” -- Patrick Henry

And I probably need not add that each and everyone of the authors above is a first-order OLS hero.
