Fidelity to the Constitution

Usually during the course of the semester, there comes a time where I note that the majority of US Presidents, since at least the time of Lincoln, have shown questionable fidelity to the US Constitution.  Frequently, this discussion morphs into the question of who is the worst US President in American history.  The criteria I use is the extent to which the President in question adhered to, supported, and upheld the principles and constraints inherent in the Constitution.  Now, for the last 7 years, I have suggested that by this criteria, FDR is the worst President in US history.  For the last 3 years -- up until the spring 2013 semester -- I have also suggested that Obama was showing both the willingness and the potential to overtake FDR (his declared idol, by the way.)  Well, after all the scandals that broke this past spring/summer, this semester I'm prepared to pronounce that Obama is the worst, most destructive President in the history of the United States.

So, with that short diatribe out of my system, let me offer you this accounting of Obama's lawlessness from an IBD editorial that hit the net yesterday.  Here's a sample:
Aug. 14, 2013: The Obama administration delayed the provision in ObamaCare to cap out-of-pocket health care costs, picking and choosing parts of the law to enforce, which is to exceed its authority.
July 17, 2013: The 4th Circuit Court of Appeals joined the federal appeals courts in D.C. and Philadelphia in ruling President Obama's National Labor Relations Board recess appointments — who by law must be approved by Congress — were unconstitutional. Thus far, the president has ignored the ruling.
July 1, 2013: The Obama administration unilaterally decided to delay the employer mandate provision of ObamaCare for a year, which is to provide information to the feds about the extent of an applicant's insurance. Never mind that the law states the mandate must go into effect on Jan. 1, 2014 — they are now relying on the "honor system" from applicants to determine if they are qualified for subsidies.
There is a much longer list of Obama's unconstitutional actions at the article...I definitely recommend you check it out.
