Global cooling

As I write this entry, it's 56 degrees outside in the middle of May, and we're still in the midst of a very cold spring.  I share this just to set a little background for the topic of this post, which involves global cooling.  That's right, cooling.  Those who follow the global warming wars closely (and I do) are well aware of the data and arguments that the last 15 years or so of flat temperatures are not an anomaly.  Indeed, a growing chorus of scientists from around the world are predicting that we're moving into an extended period of global cooling.  A few weeks ago, the Russian Academy of Sciences made headlines by referring to man-made global warming as a "marketing trick", and presented their case for a global cooling future.  You can read more about it here.
